People Are Returning to Work in the USA as Economy Reopens

USA Visa Consultant: Work

Several sectors are reopening as the USA is getting back to business after the COVID-19 pandemic

Factory jobs are making a comeback, as they begin phase one of the reopening process. Manufacturing added 225,000 jobs, which is good news for the industry that saw the largest decline in production since 1946. Aircraft, auto, and other factories halted work to keep everyone safe. Dentists were not considered essential during the crisis, so they closed their offices. The healthcare sector saw a significant increase, boosted by dental offices, which added nearly 245,000 jobs.

Restaurants and bars were considered essential but could have takeout and delivery services during the pandemic. In May, the sector added close to 1.4 million positions as the reopening began. Unemployment dropped to 13.3 percent in May as businesses across the board added 2.5 million positions, making it the best month for job increases since the Bureau of Labor Statistics started recording data in 1939. From restaurants to retail, people are finding new jobs in the USA or returning to their newly opened ones.
