USA Visa Consultant: Eco-friendly

Over two-thirds of Americans attest to the fact that “stricter environmental regulations are worth the cost”

Several cities across the US have ramped up their sustainability efforts and have seen the economic benefits. WalletHub released a report showing the top “green” cities in the United States. San Francisco ranked number one with a total score of 72.48, with the highest ranking in lifestyle and policy. Virginia Beach, Virginia, topped the charts with the lowest greenhouse gas emissions per capita. Oakland, California, followed close behind Virginia Beach.

Anchorage, Alaska, and Fremont, California, tied for the highest percentage of green space in a state. The top five states with the lowest percentage of commuters who drive are New York City, New York; Jersey City, New Jersey; Washington, DC; San Francisco, California; and Boston, Massachusetts. The top bike score went to Minneapolis, Minnesota, followed by San Francisco, California. Farmers’ markets are another criterion when deciding on cities that are eco-friendly. Honolulu, Hawaii, ranked number one for the most farmers markets. San Francisco and San Diego (also in California) ranked two and three, respectively.
